European Gynecology and Obstetrics (EGO) is the official journal of the European Society of Gynecology (ESG) and a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to the full spectrum of gynecology, obstetrics, and women's health. Founded in 2019, the Journal publishes three issues per year.

The Journal is published under a diamond open-access model: all articles are freely and permanently available to readers immediately upon publication, and no article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees are levied on authors at any stage.

All content is released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), with authors retaining copyright.

All scientific content is subject to rigorous double-anonymous peer review, conducted in accordance with the Journal's Peer Review Policy. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific merit, methodological rigor, originality, and relevance to the readership.

The Journal is founded on a clear separation of responsibilities across three levels of governance: the European Society of Gynecology, as the scientific society holding the editorial brand and responsible for scientific legitimisation; the Publisher, responsible for operational management, production, distribution, and preservation; and the Editorial Leadership (Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board), which holds full and independent authority over scientific content. Neither the Publisher nor the Society intervenes in decisions concerning individual manuscripts. The members of the Editorial Leadership are listed on the Editorial Board page.

The Journal operates in accordance with the international standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the reporting standards of the EQUATOR Network, and the Declaration of Helsinki. All articles are assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered with Crossref, and author identification through ORCID is supported. Long-term availability of published content is ensured through digital preservation in CLOCKSS and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), as described in the Digital Preservation Policy. The Journal is engaged in a progressive program of candidacy to the principal bibliographic databases, with inclusion in DOAJ as the immediate objective, followed by PubMed/PMC, Scopus, and Web of Science.

The opinions expressed in published articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the position of the Editorial Leadership, the Publisher, or the European Society of Gynecology. Readers are invited to verify independently any information of clinical relevance, in particular therapeutic indications and dosages, before applying it in professional practice.
